Benberb Irish Confederacy 1644 photo heavy

We refort the battle of Benberb between The scot ,Irish planters and the Irish confederacy

The photos show the figures and the last photos the high point of the game.
The figures are from Brad Smith and my collection painted jointly by us both

The Battle started with the Protestent armies moving towards the Irish line - their right flack move cautiously but their left move with great urgency, the battle was then joined by the Irish - a bit of to and fro the the Pro's got the better hand and after brad rolling 4 10's against Tim in Melee the right flank of the Irish looked very shaky - but all was not as it seem and the Irish launched a surprise flank attack against the "P's" and captured 2 units - while this was happening the "P's" centre attacked and right and after much to an fro also looked to break but the Couragious General attached and lead his unit into the freah and nothing could stand - The other Irish units saw this and attached along the line but had opposition on their left - we thought the Irish had the no's but no missed by one, then it looked like the centre would win it for the Protestants but woe it was not to be and they too only got 7 figure thru

A wonderful draw was fought and we picked Tim off the floor as by that time he was a dribbling mess because Brad never ever rolls that well
