Pardee Field Culps Hill July 1863 15mm

Postby fanai » Wed Oct 10, 2012 4:44 pm

Hi guys here is the photos of a wonderful game played at Brad's place using Brad's 15mm collection

It was third day gettysburg 5.30am at Culps Hill - the main battle was over a field no named after one of the Union ofiicers cal Pardee

The Game 18 stands a side
and for me a special day as I lead the Stonewall brigade for one of the only times ever in my gaming acw for 20 years
and was it blood thirsty = 6 turns and over 70 stands of figure lost for both sides

The even pbetter part is hoffmans brigade was actually lead by our own Paul Hoffman

The game seesawed one side then the other getting the momentum and I thought union had us with fresh troops but we fought back to then change history with the Confederated having all their victory conditions

Nice set up Ian, are you using fire and fury? I do like an acw stoush, they always seem pretty evenly balanced in troop quality vs numbers vs leadership. You can have some pretty big union brigades compared to the thinner Rebels but the rebs quite often have the advantage in morale and experience. Makes for some tight fights. :D

Dave the rules are adapted basic fire and fury but done to Regt level
the game teater on a knife edge several times - was played with a great spirit by players but very agressively - boy some of the contacts -ouch
but had a lot of fun
ps just finished all the figures for BIG game on 5/01/2013
will post pics soon after
