Painting Log for 2016

Postby Midshipman Easy » Fri Apr 15, 2016 9:59 pm

Gday All,

Yes I am back. New, very busy, job means that I have had little time for painting. So I am trying my best to get done what I can during school holidays, when I should be planning lessons for next term, and trying to get my ACW project finished (and also started).

Perry Plastics.
Image

So this year to date we have;

US Sharpshooters.
Image
Image
Image

These guys are left overs from making up the other 9 regular regiments.

5th New York Volunteers, Duryee's Zouaves.
Image
Image
Image

I think I'll flag these guys up as 2nd Wisconsin, Iron Brigade.
Image
Image

The brigade commander and his surgeon.

The surgeon was a spare officer figure that I didn't want to waste.

And some artillery which I need to finish the base for.
Image

3 more regiments of Union infantry (4 Reb) a regiment of cavalry (12 figures strong with the same for the Rebs) and another gun and crew (2 lots for the Rebs) to come.

Many thanks nevermore. Being Union troops the next few units should be relatively quick. However the Rebels will be more of a challenge and slow me down what with the mix of uniforms etc.

Hey Easy!

Lovely work on your ACW Perry's I like them! What rules will you be using to play?

BTW re the ACW artillery did you want to get rid of the extra barrels from the Perry kit if so PM me (there's 12 to make 3 guns)...

Cheers!

Looks like we are settling on "Black Podwer" and its "Glory, Halleujah" supplement.

Was thinking where I could get extra carriages from. Will PM you later.

June and July. Yep thats right, I got nothing finished in May.

So first up 3 regiments each of 6 horse, Warlord Miniatures. A mix of metal and plastic.
Image
Image
Image

2 Regiments of Horse, one of 10 figures and one of 8 all from Wargames Factory. Not bad figures but spindly and plain when compared to the Warlord figures.
Image
Image
Image

A Warlord Cromwell (raised hat) and King Charles (unknown manufacturer).
Image

24 foot, Warlord plastics.
Image

Light Guns, 1/72 Revell plastics, Swedish artillery.
Image

24 foot, Warlord plastics.
Image

24 Foot, Irish Regiment, Warlord plastics and metals. A very rag-tag bunch.

24 foot, Warlord plastics. Newcastle's Whitecoats.

Some very nice looking figures in this group!

You cover quite a variety of eras with your armies I am surprised you have any time to actually get a game in.

I have lots of stuff done I just haven't posted it I must get around to doing that!

I'm a bit of a bower bird when it comes to figures. Just can't help myself sometimes.

Don't game near as much as I would like to.

School holidays means that I have time to paint and the excuse that it claers my mind from the previous term.

October.

Finally I have found some time to paint stuff. Not much I will admit but as painting time seems to have been so scarce this year I'll take it and call it a win.

These figures aren't my cup of tea but nice work.

Have your excellent ACW figures seen action yet? Any pictures of them 'in use' so to speak?

Cheers

Gday Darling,

No they have not seen action yet. Still have the Rebs to finish, some time to find and then it is game on.

Will have the camera out when they do.

Tony.

December.

A final entry to close out the year.

Firstly an Imperial Hurricane walker for Warzone Resurrection in anti-vehicle and then anti-personal configurations.

Imperial Greyhound LAFV for Warzone Resurrection.

10 Imperial Trenchers for Warzone Resurrection. The four officers/characters to go with them didn't quite make it for this year.

And finally something a little more to Capt Darling's liking, 96 Imex 1/72 Mexican War American infantry as a commission job for a mate.

Happy New Year to you all. May you paint and build much in the coming year and enjoy many games, even if you win none of them.

Hey Easy,

You are correct these fellows definitely interest me...very well done!

Are you painting the Texans for your friend too?

I think I may have to get you to alleviate my painting backlog!

Oh and Happy New Year!

Cheers!

At this stage my mate has no Texans, though another box of Americans has landed on my desk.

Funnily enough I am not working this year, will do some casual teaching, and have my own painting backlog (81kg of figures) to make a dent in. However all things are possible. :)

Storing them when they are finished ... :( :?
