Once again the forces of the King did face the Rebels at Marston Moor, a battle fought when Rupert was having a very bad day (:
The Royalist Side was commanded by the very able (Rick) Lord Rupert and Lord Goring (Lew). The Rebel Roundheads where commanded by his grace Sir Thomas Fairfax (Tony) and His grace the Earl of Manchester (Louis). The Royalist army consisted of 5 Battles, 2 of horse and 3 of foot, the Rebel army also had 5 battles, 2 horse and 3 foot. The Rebels did have a advantage in dragoons, having 2 units of them, whilst in the Royalist army not one could be found. After a long and bloody affair, Prince Rupert was forced to retire from the field and concede victory to the Rebels.
A full battle report can be found in the Charles Bean room in this forum.
There is of course Naseby for Rupert to have his revenge!!!!
A few happy snaps of the game:
The Emperors Legion meets every second Sunday of the Month at the Penrith PYCC, 100 station Street Penrith. We game historical, 40K, Fantasy, Star Fleet, etc. We start at 10am and finish at 400pm. Our next meeting is on Sunday the 8th of January 2012, where we hope to put on a Rapid Fire WW2 game, either in the sweating Jungle of the Pacific or the burning sands of the Aegean. All are most welcome.
