The historical group of the Legion will be playing several small, but rather intense team tag games this meeting on the 11th April. The Duke of Wollongong has foolishly challenged us and will suffer. (:

Battle reports and pics will be posted.

Never play as the Duke's ally. His troops uniforms have big yellow streaks along their spines. I talk from experience

Guys,
A report please - was the Duke soundly beaten and sent back down the hill tail between his legs? :D

A few happy snaps of our historical "Challenge' held at the Legion this Sunday past.
's trembling French.jpg
The First Game was the Duke (French) and Millisy (Austrian) facing myself and the Duke of Wilkinson (7YW English) after a rather interesting move-counter move game, the final clash accrued on the English Right as the well led (and lucky) Austrian cavalry smashed the British .
The British Right wing. (oops forgot about that cav again!).jpg
The second game was the English up against some nicely painted Swedes. In this game the British Right infantry advanced on the Swedish Cavalry, and for a few turns they were in rather a confused state(: However, when the Swedish did attack, some VERY bad dice rolls by the English shooting did save their (Swedish) butt, and they were able to claim a hotly contested draw!

The score was one loss and one draw. So no the Duke was not sent packing, but he said he'll return for more "mischief". The "Us verse Them" trophy says with the Legion until the next challenge.

Until the next time.

Such outrageous comments from the GWZ.   Twas a glorious day for the Duke and his allies - you know things have gone well when a Franco-Austrian force can defeat the English!

I would like to thank the Legion for its hospitality and look forward to the next round of the THEM V US challenge.

The Duke and his allies - amongst whom is numbered the famed Prinz Ferdinand plan to set forth on other occasions against other clubs should they be willing to take the THEM V US challenge!
