Virtual Table Top

Plush chairs, maps , light tables and sand trays, efficent WAAFs and crusty Admirals , curtained windows and scrambled phones...the place to talk about the annual big game and those sort of events...and all the recruiting and planning of such

Virtual Table Top

Post by Dropbear » Sat Sep 01, 2012 12:22 pm

Has anyone tried a game over the internet using a virtual table top?

I came across one the other day that seems fairly good, and I am thinking of giving it a try (http://roll20.net/)

Is anyone interested in trying a wargame over the internet like this?

It would be a skirmish game, maybe something like a dungeon bash or Strange Aeons (1920s horror).

Nice link, that looks to have allot of potential.

I am certainly interested in a game so i can get a feel for it, but not sure if it will work where i am at the moment (away from home).

regards
Mathew

I have just been knocking together a test on this, and it seems fairly easy to use.

What type of game would you be interested in playing? What rules do you have? (both RGP or wargaming)

Obviously if all players have the rules being used it would be far easier, as would using smaller forces.

I will keep it easy - a Fantasy dungeon bash ( a war game with room for a little role playing if wanted).

I can create a four to six member party and you just take control of them, or you can create your own characters and let me know what they are.

If you want me to create the characters I am thinking of something along the lines of:

A human ranger, Mage, cleric and a thief, with maybe adding a Dwarf fighter and a bard if extra characters are wanted.

I can upload the character data to the virtual table and we take it from there.

Other people could also join in if they wanted too, using one of the characters mentioned above.

Sounds good. I have registered, so let me know when ready and we can arrange a time.
