Well I like men with plans and goals! What are yours for this year?

2017 for me well...

Get lots more VSF modelling and gaming on the go.

Road Trip to Melbourne Little Wars if I can convince a couple of mates to come along!

Try an AWI game.

Try a Blucher game.

Play more WW II games than usual...

I'm sure there'll be the regular table top and board games with mates too...

My plans involve more gaming than I have done over the last two years, stick to one set of rules that can be used for any skirmish game and wait with much anticipation for the "A Right Bloody Mess" 1930's Australian civil war sourcebook to be released.

Game wise I intend to play a Napoleonic skirmish campaign using 15mm figures, F&IW games with 28mm, WW2 with 28 and 20mm (not at the same time).

Remember that you only make plans so that you have something to change!

PLans for 2017;
1. Complete the ACW armies. (don't buy any more, don't buy any more....)
2. Assemble, paint and play a 15mm Napoleonic army (Austrains look nice...)
3. Complete a number of major items on the wife's "To Do" list (ie things for ME to do)
4. Get an ACW campaign going.
5. Make serious inroads on the painting stash.
6. Aleviate the storage issues in order to fulfil number 5.
7. Don't buy many figures. (Nah!)

I have just delved into a project I have wanted to do for years - an Old School 40k Metal Imperial Guard Praetorian and Mordian Army. Purely painting project and if I can complete that in 2017 I will be happy.

Mathew

For 2017, I wish to get back into ancients. After a 13 year break not counting the junior general games I played with my kids

Wow, for some strange reason virtually same as last years?

Anyway:

1. Finish off what is on my table.
2. Game an extended WW2 scenario.
3. Strange urge to build and paint a Stuka???

Sounds like we may see a lot of action on the forum ROF 2017...even if it only a handful of us...

Well got my first VSF game under my belt now to write the AAR...

Only strange if it's 1:1 scale...

Ha, thanks guys. Strange as never even considered planes as always been into armour and infantry for WW2. Saw a kit at our local and compulsion to buy and build????

But hoping this will be cracking year for this forum.

Okay beside ‘the same as last year’ what’s your plans for 2018  ...

For me...

Get at least half a dozen FUBAR VSF games in of course.

Developed The Great Antipodean Adventure idea and get the Very Uncivil Australian Disturbance under way.

Do the Road Trip to Melbourne Little Wars, I have one definite co-conspirator enlisted already :D ...

Try Maurice Rules.

Play more TW&T and Longstreet.

Happy New Year!

Same as last year, plus ...

Play "Longstreet" a few times at least.
Sort out some of my 15mm Ancients for "L'Arte de la Guerre".
Play some games of "Blucher".
Try not to get into anymore periods, scales or rules!

Like every one else, a bit of the same as 2017, withthe following modificaions:

15mm WW2 gaming using the 'Disposable Heroes: Point Blank" rules. This will also be mixed in with a bit of 20mm WW2 for the same rules, as my gaming buddy has 20mm figures to use.

Small skirmish games using the "Open Combat" rules I just purchased: the rules are very flexible and intended for a small handful of figures. I am putting together a 10mm Lord of the Rings setting for this, and want to do some 28mm Ancients (Romans vs Germans... need to do research in to this period, but really want to use the Aventine Miniatures EIR figures, as they are amazing).

IF the stars align and I am not off with my second job, I hope to get to Little Wars Melbourne for the first time. As it is being held on a Saturday and not a Sunday, I have a better chance of going than normal.

If the stars align we will have to do some planning for this. Hopefully I will have a better idea if I will be able to attend in the next three weeks or so.

My plans are very simple, to complete a painted army! While I love WWII, it is likely to be my "escape" genre, Warhammer 40k.

I am looking forward to getting it done, for collecting and painting offers as much as gaming these days. :)
