Hi All!

Seems I'll be in Canberra on 6th of November so I'll drop into Little Wars.

I see 12 games listed on the Little Wars site which I assume are walk ups and some trader stands, anything else on the go like bring n buy etc?

Many people planning on going?

Cheers!

Capt

Our little Canberra coven is putting on the Battle of Gabiene using Command & Colours with 28mm miniatures. Drop by and say hello if you get the chance. We ran Zama last year and had quite a few members of the public come by and ask questions.

Using C&C in case anyone wants to play.

Cheers

Garry

See you there.

Good exhibition at the Australian Museum - 100 Historical Objects from the British Museum. Planning to go soon but others have said a must see. Also a bit quirky but photographic exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery on dogs!!!!

We are setting up tomorrow afternoon and game starts at 1000 on Sunday, plenty of other games so hopefully we will have plenty of people calling by.

Also you may wish to see the German A7V tank from WWI at the War Memorial - yet to see it, must make an effort before it goes back home to Brisbane.

Have a good time in Canberra, you have brought fine weather with you.

Cheers

Garry

Hey Gary,

Thanks!

Have done the 100 things plus everything touristy from the Royal Mint to a personal Dr Who exhibition at the Museum + Gallery. :D

First time I've seen the AWM in 10 years. So it was very different, took extra time at the A7V (then straight after ordered a 1/32 one from Arcance, £14.60 with free shipping to go with my 1/56 Trenchworx one).

Today spent the morning at the art galleries and the afternoon bumming around drinking by the apartment pool...a Middle East place tonight for dinner featuring belly dancer :P ...last night did one of the best Italian places I've been to La Dolca Vita, Kingston very good and corkage for my fine S.A. Wines was only $8 a bottle.

Catch ya tomorrow!

Cheers!

Well LIttle Wars Canberra was great fun, I had a good day! Kudos to the organisers no those who set up no ran the games, well done all.

I looked around, played a couple of games, spoke with 'table owners', spent some money and kept a low profile :D ...no Captain Darling name tag haha.

My vote for best terrain of the day was the World War 1 game but it was a close call. Odd it was a great table but had an odd mix of different era figures in use on it though (early Hun infantry, later Entente infantry, tanks, cavalry charging across no mans land etc I think it was to promote a set of rules and range of figures but no one was at the table when I visited it)?

Figure wise many tables had great ones but the unplayed display only SAGA Viking table got my vote there but the CnC 28mm Ancients (Battleof Gabiene) were really close.

And a special mention to the guys who ran the Crimen War Charge of the Light Brigade game, I didn't see it being played but the figures were great and I'm sure it would have been a spectacle, having a Russian heritage it was cool seeing spike helmeted Russians no the cavalcade of various horsemen set up on the table... 8) ...

These are just my opinions!

Game wise I played Dead Mans Hand its a great Wild West ride I'll definitely pick up these rules! Also I played a beer and pretzels WW 2 Stalingrad game with 54mm figures and cardboard buildings all in all very cool. I took a set of rules away with me. Plenty of room to customise these too!

Lots of money was raised for Soldier On too so well done.

I'll post some pictures soon...

Cheers!
