M3 White scout car usage

Post by Chuckie » Wed Mar 18, 2015 6:22 pm

Sorry to ask but time is not my friend, and probably alot others, at the moment.

I was wondering what use these vehicles were for either USA, British and USSR.
Were they front line or relegated to back ground roles.

Thanks once again.

At the very real risk of appearing obtuse(r): what vehicles?

Fanai,

Thanks mate as I ended up with two and they are great vehicles but I had a strange recollection that they were not "all" over the place as I originally thought.
Now found the right spot for them.

Cheers.

Hi Chuckie,

In addition to what Fanai has said these vehicles did see second line service in Europe after D-Day with US and British forces and front line action with Free French units.

The best and coolest use though is Pattons command vehicle!

Thanks Captain.

I will be scrapping and altering and sending them off to my Russian scouts.
That is a great picture of the one you uploaded.

Chuckie

The Brits used them in their recce units, particularly 11th Hussars in NWE

Also used as ambulances in infantry divisions
