Longstreet 4 Player Campaign Game AAR

Postby Captain Darling » Sun Mar 12, 2017 7:22 pm

Hi All!

We completed our 3 game Campaign, the last scenario was the Battle of Codorus Creek.

The game and therefore the Campaign was a resounding victory to the Union, the Campaign result was two victories to one!

The Epic Points for the four players ranged from 11 to 15 with one player scoring two extra from the Campaign Cards (they ended on 14).

This game went down to the wire at the start of turn 12 both sides were in a position to win and players had ample cards in their hands...it went down to the initiative of the turn and that went to the Federal forces.

Brigadier General Gordon's Georgians move forward to destroy the Union Vth Corps left flank anchored in the trees...

Gunners from Green's Battery kept up lively although not very effective fire from their dominant hilltop position all game...

Union troops of the 3rd Division Vth Corps advance toward Codorus Creek...

Smith's Brigade surges forward to engage the Federal left in the games penultimate turn!

Lots more pictures and a full run down of the scenario and the AAR are on on the TSOG blog...

Looks impressive with 6mm miniatures ..i think it gives a idea of the battle and you can have flank movements more often ... 28mm is good but hard to get that effect...good stuff capt

Thanks Nevermore, yeah I'm sold on small figures for big battles!
Slowly painting up some WW II Pendraken 10mm figures at the moment.
That said its about time I trotted out some 28mm stuff...

Very nice .

Just started enjoying these rules in 28mm recently at the Peninsula Praetorians. It's been fun and different for me as I normally don't care for campaigns but it works well.

So am finding links to it to check out thanks.

thanks

checking out your website now.

funny your black and white photo brought back memories..

I remember when I was a Sydney kid in the mid 70's joining an ACW group called the Blue & Grey I think?, [based in Cambeltown I think?] and they sent out their magazine as a roneo copy and had photos like that. But being a kid without transport thats as close as I got to gaming with them. Though I remember being one of the earliest ACW gamers back then and gaming {Rob? if your reading} at Lindfield wargames club with our Airfix troops. But after those early years there was a long gap before Aussies took up the ACW games. Probably in the 90's i painted up 15mm ACW but only a few games and never saw much locally though I guess 15mm was being played. Its not till recently I could get any real ACW gaming in and back in 25mm. So moving to Melbourne and joining the local group has been good forcing me to paint many figures. I may even get my vintage 25mm ACW armies finished replacing some of their larger scale creep brethren I got together for gaming down here.
