Families

For the promotion and discussion for anything 18th Century that mixes wigs, powder and lace in a theme that is not quite historical, but not quite fantasy.

Families

Post by Paul » Mon Aug 20, 2012 12:47 am

I haven´t yet got to the main family in my Imagi-Nation, the one which most of the intrigue etc will revolve but when i do, I´m thinking of making a family tree for them. Anyone done this?

William V The Naughty....

I see you´ve also added religion, my next question was going to be about wether religion is a part of Imagi-Nations and then could it be a made up one?

I don't see why you cant make it up  Even after religion ceases to be the cause du jour of seeking an excuse for war it still plays a part in the hearts of the populations of those supposed real countries

There is a bit more to play out on the religion front for me, instead of making the obvious choice of papist and protestant I opted for two brands of protestant faith, so rather than compare apples and oranges I move into the slightly absurd, red apples vs green apples (a parody of the news reels we see coming out of the middle east today). Of course pseudo catholicism is represented in a round about way by the 5th columnists of the Wholly Roaming Empire. This all adds up to provide a wealth of options for future Imagineering.

Oh, and of course there is more than a grain of truth woven into the lineage and history of Hessen Kassoulet and Hessen Darnsoxstadt 8)

I have not yet thought about developing families for my upcoming "Stagonian Wars" campaign, but there are some good systems for doing so in Tony Bath's and Charles Stewart Grant's books on setting up Wargames Campaigns.

I have, however started establishing the the army structure for the upcoming campaign. The first post of which can be found here:

Thanks, Dave.

Actually my main blog is the other side, Saxe-Bearstein. And here's a link to my initial thoughts on this campaign:

Glad to see you got in at last Jeff, apparently the islanders were holding Admin Fella captive hence the delay. When they realised you were waiting approval they decided not to boil him up for soup and let him go. :D

Paul have you looked into joining the Emperor vs Elector blog group yet?

Paul,

I am the Inhaber (i.e., owner) of the "Emperor vs Elector" group blog. If you have an 18th century Imagi-Nation that would like to join, email me at . . . bluebearjeff@shaw.ca . . . and I will see that you get an invitation.

I have also just posted a list of the command officers for Saxe-Bearstein in my upcoming "Stagonian Wars" mini-campaign:
