As it stands, I hope Australia looses the Ashes...

Postby Dropbear » Fri Feb 06, 2009 4:20 pm

.. simply because they don't deserve to win.

They suspend one of their best players for saying it how it is, and yet do nothing when two team members have a bit of biffo over the when the oh so "important" team song should be sung after a match!

Come on Aussie get your flaming act together!!!!!

This rant was brought to you my KFC, proud sponsors of the Australian Cricket team

They suspend one of their best players

You mean the allrounder who couldnt bowl in the tests and now cant even score double figures in club cricket?

Better off without him.

I wouldn't worry too much. Over the past 15-20 years, England has developed quite a reputation for being the ideal team to play when you're looking to re-build, or for getting your key players out of a slump and back to top form. At the moment, I think we could pick three different teams that would all be equally capable of getting into a winning position and then throwing it away. Our key weaknesses currently are wicketkeepers who can't bat OR keep - ironic for the nation that produced Evans, Murray, Knott, Taylor, Russell and Stewart - and the world's weakest tail. The keeping thing is particularly interesting since it coincided with putting Rod "iron gloves" Marsh in charge of our Academy!

Ronan
You must have a Dark Times English team surely?
Check the rules, see if you can come up with one.

Wish we had a few Windies in the Tavern. It'd be the ultimate fantasy Horror XI contest.

Now I wish I could confidently say that England will indeed regain the Ashes.......but I can't, so I won't!! My money would be on Austrailia.

The last Ashes series over here was indeed a classic, cricket was the real winner. But the next over in Oz was a total disaster. England just don't seem to do well overseas anymore and not much better at home!
