I didn't get any pop ups. Check if you SmitFraud infected or something similar. Some of the new hijackers redirect any web advertising on forums to another ad host which gets downright evil ads.

The photos look good, Napoleonics always look good en masse like Russian tanks.

It's OK - the ads are automatic and harmless. In fact if you delete your flash player program, you cut them down.
