Thanks Fellas

I have also had started the signaller for the command pack, kneeling with field telephone.

I have also added 1 extra figure to the 1st rifleman pack, that pack is pure Militia themed, so 4 figrues should give a nice mix.

I am considering another Lewis Gun figure, the classic sort of pose where he has the Lew Gun over the shoulder.

I know these last 2 figures were not planned per se, but I am happy to fund them myself and think they may add some extra depth to the range.

regards
Mathew

Hey All
Please see below another update pic for the Kokoda figures. Getting closer to finishing now, just need to finish a couple of them off and do some general tidying up and smoothing out. I certainly welcome any constructive comments to help get these guys right, keeping in mind they are WIP and bulk detail is almost done.

Image

Pictured is the Lewis LMG and No2 pack, a 4 figure pack of specific Militia figures, a 3 figure pack of Militia in Khaki Drill (also suitable for other threatres and 1 of 2 planned packs) and finally telephone operator for the Command figure pack. Immediately following these will be a 3 figure Thompson SMG pack and a Bren gun Team.

Mathew

Going well the greens will be done over the next week or so, then shipment to me and off to the mould maker.

I am hoping in the next 4 weeks or so.

Matt, as you expand in the future is it possible for you to do a bush hat head sprue of two or three heads? That way I could use the same figure twice in one platoon by doing a quick head swap.
Cheers

Hey Mate

It is not something I have looked at, but can.

Just been speaking with the sculptor and we are looking to finalise the figures this week.

Hey All

Please see below pics of essentially finished figures.

They will be on the way to me shortly and I should have them in the next week and off to the mould maker within a week of that.

Bren, Thompson and Boyes ATR are going to be started along with Japanese rifle and LMG.

I am looking to do a character figure that will be available to contributors and in time as pat of a "unit deal". There was a suggestion for a slightly overweight militia type command figures maybe based loosely on Blamey (I appreciate he was not militia but he fits the image i suppose)??

Any other suggestions?

I am also looking to add a 2nd Lewis Gunner to the LMG pack as well. Probably in a non combat pose with the Lewis Gun over shoulder. People happy for this?

They have been shipped and I hope to have them no later than Monday next week.

A few days to sort them out and give them a final once over and off to the mould maker they go.

All going well I hope I may have some metal casting by about 10 March (pending how busy the mould maker is).

From there I have allot of figures to cast out. :D

Rather than that fat bastard Blamey, may I suggest a wounded digger being helped by a fuzzy wuzzy?
I know it's two rather than one, (well one and a half) but they would be more useful I suspect.

That is probably a good suggestion. I had the medic/helper as part of the packs, but it may be better suited as a character piece.

The masters arrived yesterday.

I am hoping to have them off to the mould maker tomorrow. :)

Mathew

Brigade Games sell the fuzzy wuzzy and wounded Aussie. As a supporter I am hoping for something unique no-one else does to go with this special range of figures.

Ok, no rush it can be pondered a bit more.

I am just doing some final touches to a few of the figures and i noted the Bipod for the Lewis Gun just does not cut it.

I have removed it and I am thiking that the weapon looks better overall with it off.

Is there any objections to leaving it off? The bipod was removeable in reality so there is no issues there.

Opinions would be appreciated.

Mathew

Done mate, I was reliably informed that it was left off anyway as it was a hinderance in the jungle.

All going well the figures will be in the post today.

The mould maker (Eureka) informed me that it will be 2-3 weeks before they can make the mould.

The good news is we are almost there.

Progress continues for the next packs and I am already looking ahead to doing Japanese and further Australian sets for the early war period.

I was emailed last night that the mould is done and will be on the way to me today.

Express Post so I should have it (fingers crossed) tomorrow (they deliver saturdays here).

I will see how the castings have come out before finalising and contacting everyone about what they want.

Due to a couple of large contributions people do not have to spend their entire contribution straight away. You can spread it over future releases (within reason).

I will post some pics of the castings as soon as i can tomorrow (pending their arrival) and will of course begin casting them out ASAP!

Almost there. :)

regards
Mathew

P.S: Working is progressing on making the next batch of weapons which will include the Vickers, Bren and Thompson. It will also include a Japanese rifle so I can do a test figure for the a future range of them as well.

Hey All

Another quick update.

I received the mould back yesterday and have started spinning it out.

From this i noticed a couple of small mould failings namely 1 of the slings has broken and not moulded and 1 finger on the officer with pistol was missing.

I have spoken with the mould maker and will be sending some fresh figures to him Friday for remoulding. This is one of those Murphy's Laws things where it was just too good to be true that it was all ready to go.

As most of the figures are good, I will continue to spin the mould and will begin contacting everyone individually to get their orders for the initial batch of figures.

I do have some pics of the castings and will post them up in the next couple of days when I sort out an image host.

Initial price will be $2.25 per figure with discount to be applied as applicable.

Initial codes are:

AMF01 Command (3 x figures)
AMF02 Riflemen 1 (4 x Figures)
AMF03 Riflemen 2 (3 x figures)
AMF04 Lewis Team (2 x Figures)

Mathew

Hi Matt. Is it ok to hang back and wait until the SMGs and Bren figures are released?

Yes mate.

I am happy for those who have made significant contributions to spread it out over the figure releases.
