Australian Armoured Vehicles (20mm)

Post by Splod » Wed Mar 24, 2010 11:50 am

Well I've finally fallen from my 28mm perch and am moving my skirmish wargaming to 20mm, starting with the ADF in Afghanistan. Don't worry, I'll still stick with 6mm for my real wargaming ;)

Two vehicles which are vital for recreating the Australian Defence Force in Oruzgan Province are the ASLAV-25 and the ASLAV-PC. Sorry about the shitty images, my own photos are on my home computer.

These two kits are based on the same hull, so won't take too much effort to alter the hull to make both.
So, any interest? :)

Making this a bit more generic... Well, still Australian. Just expanding a bit.
These are both vehicles used by the SASR.

Not currently deployed, but if we ever deploy 1st Armoured one of our Mech-Inf battalion will most likely be along for the ride. Not high on my priority list, but still worth mentioning.

The ASLAV is certainly something that has been and will continue to be considered. I am just waiting for the results of the new moulding process for the Bushmaster before looking to the viability of this vehicle.

Well let me know how it goes... Its really hard to do modern Australians unless you've got some solid modelling skills.

I'm already preparing to cut up some DPV's to try and make some SRV's and a Perentie. I don't really want to have to attack an LAV kit to try and make an ASLVAV-PC... I don't think it will go well.

Welcome to the world of 20mm ADF.

I have the Tiger and am currently building an MRH90 from an NH90 kit. I also have figs and bushies from WarTime. Hoping to get some Lavs and LRPs soon.

Cool mate, looking forward to seeing what you've bashed together.

I'd be happy even with just a conversion kit for the Trumpeter LAV to ASLAV-25...
