28mm Ice Hockey Players

Post by Dropbear » Tue Dec 30, 2008 7:57 am

Ice Hockey players - Goalie, Centre, 2 x Wingers and 2 x Defensemen - 6 figures in total.

Reference - hockey books and plenty of NHL photos online.

Tally: 116

Dropbear: 12
arnhem_chris: 34
nevals: 14
Mike Bruck: 42 (enough for 6 teams): 6 Goalies. 12 Defensemen. 24 Forwards (the extra 6 are for the pulled goalies ideas)
Lars: 14 figs (two teams, 1+6 each)

Drop,

I could be tempted, as I used to play many moons ago, before moving on to gridiron! :) Is there any chance of a sneak peek at your rules first though?

Rgds

many thanks :D (After almost a decade of trying to get these figures made i am very keen to see them in production).

Just on a side note - if anyone else is interested I do play test rules for Ice Hockey that i can send via email.

Hi, my first post here.
I think we would need 7 players fr a team: 1 golie ,5 players + 1 extra player for the case when a team pulls a golie out and add an extra atacker.
I would go with generic looking players, with helmets, that could fit into 80's, 90's and current era.Vintage looks would be nice, but let us stick to the basic.
I think Canada should be involved somehow.Potential producer, maker could be from there.I think in the sense that potential market is there, not only for "sport wargamers",but for general public.Quite a lot of boys wold like to own and paint their own Maple Leaf team ,or Canadiens.I am not aware of any such a toy. That would increase chances for the project to be feasable .

That is a very good point about the goalie being taken off the ice for the extra attacker.

Honestly, I do not mind where the sculpting is done as long as a) Battlescape can afford it and wont go bankrupt and b) the figures are made.

So, nevals, how many figures do you want? Unless people indicate how many figures they are prepared to buy, any discussion about how or where they are made is neither here nor there :D

i would need 2 teams: 2 goalies and 12 players to have team Blue and team Red.

excellent :D

That makes 60; considering these figures are sporting figures, how many more need to be ordered before they can be considered worthy of being made?

I am very interested in 28mm hockey miniatures. My goal is to do the original six NHL teams. So I would be interested in getting:

6 Goalies
12 Defensemen
24 Forwards (the extra 6 are for the pulled goalies ideas)
6 Coaches ... would be cool extras to have

In fact I would like to do home and away uniforms so if the model become available I would get double of each (excet the coaches of course). So 12 goalies etc.

Sweeeeeeeeeet. I think we have just tipped this one over the edge so to speak.

Ok, I have been collecting photos from NHL games to use as figure pose samples, so if anyone that has put there hand up can post some (please small size pics so as not to make this thread post heavy) we can really get the puck flying

Hi all!
I found this topic at the TMP-forum and as nothing seems to happen at the Eureka club 100, this looks like an interesting option.

So drop:
1. what price per figure are we talking about and
2. would it be possible to have a look at those rules?

I can't speak for the price on these, as that is Mathew's (Battlescape military books and miniatures) department, but i should imagine over $2AUD and below $3AUD.. don't quote me on that, as it is only a guess.

Re the rules - you certainly can. I need all the help I can with the rules

I use my powers of editing for this post... please, unless you are indicating how many figures you would like, or discussing the suggested figures (or requesting the rules i have written), make off topic posts elsewhere. :D

interesting subject, not my area, but happy to accommodate if there is the interest. :)

At this stage the SYW project will be the priority. I see the Bushranger project being 2nd cab off the rank.

Based on what i have seen so far, these may be the only two projects that will fit in for the foreseeable future. That is of course using the same sculptor.

I am not trying to dampen this in any way, just highlighting that once you get a build up of projects then things take longer to do.

That isnt a problem... I would like to see more people wanting these figures first anyway, due to the very nature of what they are. :D

Yes.... as mentioned in the last post in this thread made by Battlescape :D

Basically, a) I would like to see more people sign up for these figures, and b) other figures will be being made first, so we need those to be made first for various reasons, all of which are very good reasons.

Considering the whole process - getting the pre orders, getting the poses we want, finding a sculpter to make them, then getting them cast, I would expect months.

I would be interested in a couple of teams for this. I guess that's 14 figures not coounting refferees. Although depending on the rule mechanics you may need more as you substitute offensive and defensive lines.

Also coould you email me a set of the rules? Please.

Greetings,
I just chanced across this post and as a hardcore hockey fan I would be keen to get my hands on a couple of teams.
2 X 6 initially (1 Goalie, 2 defencemen, 3 forwards).
If some miniature rules are available I would be interested in seeing those as well.

I am surprised that hockey miniatures aren't already available especially in Canada.
They seem to produce every other hockey trinket imaginable!!

God forgive me but even I am becoming interested in this project. Put me down for a team.

I can see a great fantasy-hockey tournament. Maybe a few wildly gesticulating umpres and owners as well?
