meeting Sunday 8th Mar - Lukes WW2 Rapid Fire Ardennes

Postby manstein » Tue Mar 03, 2009 12:21 pm

Hi Luke and Rapid Firers

Terry mentioned there was a 'Shermans and Germans' game this weekend.
I'm keen to join in the Bulge. Will play Krauts (preferred) or Yanks as
a sub-comander (company or battalion CO).

Maybe we can have a special Joachim Peiper ueber-leader figure....
Dave

PS. If you want to get in the mood check out the Panzerlied from the
old Battle of the Bulge movie at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bi3Rh4TD ... re=related

Gday Dave...

You are more then welcome to join in mate. I was thinking of putting on Stoument from the RF bulge book but Im thinking now that may be too small a game....

So im just going to bring all my Krauts and a part of my (much larger) Yank collection and we can make up a suitable scenario on the day .

You dont have any 20mm Germans to bring by any chance?

Luke

Cheers for the Panzerlied clip...shame about the rest of the movie

Hi Luke

Thanks, looking forward to it.

Terry mentioned on the phone last weekend he thought there might be a few people interested,
although I haven't seen any other replies on this or the yahoo site.

Righto. I don't have a set of scenarios but I'll help you sift thru them to choose one depending on how many people show.

>You dont have any 20mm Germans to bring by any chance?

No, sorry. Don't have any WWII figs or vehicles any more :(
Lost in my many moves of house......they were late 70s stuff anyhow so nowhere near as
good as as the stuff you guys use. I used to have a PzKpW IV that had been stepped on
and reglued a few times ....didn't have the nice big trestle tables back in then.
The only vehicles and figs I have are some 1/72 moderns, an M3 Bradley and a couple of HMMVVs which are slowly and painfully being built and some modern US grunts.

Yeah, it was a bit of a lemon, esp the vehicle inauthneticity....

See you Sunday
