Local Newspaper Story on Cumberland Meet 10th August
Local Newspaper Story on Cumberland Meet 10th August
Earlier this year a journo from one of Leichhardts leading newspapers, The Village Voice, contacted me regarding a story on our Cumberland Group. We lost contact and so nothing was done. However we have made contact again and I've told her that we will be having a meet this August 10th. She showed interest and need to follow up. It would be great to have a good turnout for this meet so all you cumberlanders out there interested in promoting the game come along and play in what is organised..only the Pirate game at the mo, which unfortunately all seats are taken. A good looking WW2 game perhaps? Wings of War? Will contact the blackpowderers to set something up. Over to us.... and the love of Wargaming.

Does this mean you`ll be more or less inclined to wear the tricornes and pirate coats I was going to bring along and make you all wear?
If you think I`m kidding- ask the Cardinal.

i fear that the dress up may not exactly be what we want in the local paper..they will concentrate on that and ignore most else..

Alright- no dress ups! (darn)
Is a pirate game a good vehicle for such publicity,in any event? Could it be seen as somewhat puerile ?

Re: Local Newspaper Story on Cumberland Meet 10th August
just had a talk with Lauren from the Village Voice and she will be coming over at 11am tomorrow.
Re: Local Newspaper Story on Cumberland Meet 10th August
She seemed as bemused as all girls that see a room full of men and toy soldiers. However she left with a smile, some nice photos and alot of words.... I look forward to seeing the article in the "village Voice" when it comes out.

Had the Kardinal's ear become unglued during the day?
Re: Local Newspaper Story on Cumberland Meet 10th August
actually it is a sign of age , getting a bit hard to clearly hear things in big noisy halls with lots of clatter and shiny surfaces bouncing sound around...could hear the game across the room a lot easier than those talking nearby..I think it might be a bit of deafness..can see the efficay of hearing trumpets!
