Re: Dwarf Stonghold

Hi Fanai,
I missed this, very nice work.
Is it totally scratch built?
What materials are you using?
Do you have any 'in progress' pictures?
Cheers

Renedra Palisade Fencing

Hi All, I recently ordered some 28mm scale Renedra Palisade Fencing from Arcane Scenery (UK supplier who often has free worldwide shipping offers on their site) and for the total price of less than Aust$9 a pack i.e. two sprues! That's a bargain for me I could scratch build this but my time is worth...

Re: ACW Skirmish Rules Comparison: BaB v SoW

Hi Dropbear, Its worth trying SoW as it's free (unless you need to buy D8s like I had too :D)! You could definitely combine parts of the rules and test it. My friends and I have updated SoW with a handful house rules and one alteration (muzzle loader reload time) and we are happy with that at the mo...

ACW Skirmish Rules Comparison: BaB v SoW

Hi All, I said I’d review Brother Against Brother and State of War ACW skirmish rules, I'm not an expert on reviews so I’ll sum up each set of rules then point out what I think about each of them I hope you’ll find this helpful! Brother Against Brother The 2nd edition rules are well printed and chea...

Re: Perry Zouaves Blooded - Get That Barn!

Hey Dropbear,

I never got the Longstreet PDF so not sure about any issues with it. Bummer if there are problems! Pity we're not in the same city I'd have you over for a game or two of Longstreet straight away.

Will post up my reviews on the skirmish rules tomorrow.

Cheers

Perry Zouaves Blooded - Get That Barn!

Hi All, I was lined to help my brother move furniture on the weekend but the job fell through so suddenly I had a free afternoon! Fitted in a few small and short ACW skirmish scenarios using both 'State of War' and 'Brother Against Brother' rules. There were no more than 50 figures on the table for ...

28mm Palisade - or "the story of a diosma's great sacrifice"

Hi All, For a game I’ve got in mind I needed a palisade so one of the backyard diosma’s has made the ultimate sacrifice and has been severely pruned to give me an ample supply of 1/56 scale logs. I cut up and trimmed some of the straight branches and plastered them to a plastic base. A touch of brow...

Care for a 28mm Zouave or 42?

Hi All, I haven't had too much gaming time over the last few weekends but have been catching up on basing, scenery etc where I have had a few minutes here and there... Here are my 28mm Perry ACW Zouaves I have just finished basing these individually for my skirmish gaming. I posed them on the battle...

Thanks Tony!

$45 for the set sounds okay since their website lists that set at Euro35.50, I'll have a look around for these.

28mm Scale ACW 13 Inch Mortar

Hi All, I was after a 'big gun' to use as a prop in some of my 28mm ACW skirmish games and liked the look of the 13 Inch Mortar. I found three makers on the net for this gun in 28mm but the only one that would sell the gun and accessories without figures was Redoubt (I have artillerymen already). Th...

Longstreet Rules -Campaign Game #8 AAR

Hi All, This was the eighth game in our Longstreet campaign only one to go. We played this the night before Little Wars Adelaide, Dave will be back in town in October so we hope to get the final game in then. This is the last of the three 1864 games with the Union side is now favoured by the minimum...

I have around 240 infantry, a couple of dozen cavalrymen and a five various guns with 18 crew in total ready for action (all the Yankees and the Rebel cavalry were bought prepainted I painted the Rebel infantry). Below are some ...

State of War ACW Skirmish Rules Test Games

Hi All, I have now played 4 games with the State of War ACW skirmish rules, 3 face to face games and a solo one. The verdict are these will be my rules of choice of ACW skirmish games! We have played infantry only "company" strength games so far with up to 50 soldiers/figures on a side. I'll do a wr...
