28mm Scale ACW 13 Inch Mortar

Hi All, I was after a 'big gun' to use as a prop in some of my 28mm ACW skirmish games and liked the look of the 13 Inch Mortar. I found three makers on the net for this gun in 28mm but the only one that would sell the gun and accessories without figures was Redoubt (I have artillerymen already). Th...

Hi All, Thanks for getting some pictures of Little Wars Adelaide up Stu..I was so busy gaming I didn't take any. One of my three mates who went along took a few. I think it was a great success and I look forward to it returning next year. Those ships remind me of the ones from the Pirates of the Car...

State of War ACW Skirmish Rules Test Games

Hi All, I have now played 4 games with the State of War ACW skirmish rules, 3 face to face games and a solo one. The verdict are these will be my rules of choice of ACW skirmish games! We have played infantry only "company" strength games so far with up to 50 soldiers/figures on a side. I'll do a wr...

Hey Stu, How many HMS Victory's can a man have  ! Looking like an excellent fleet there! Did you try any gap filler ocean bases? Since I'm just hanging around and helping with odd jobs on July 12 I may have to cruise up to the table yell "ahoy mateys!" and try a game. Too many modern and altern...

Re: 28mm Trees - Basing

Hi All, First two 28mm trees based and ready the rest of this batch now fixed to bases and drying. To base these I went with 4cm squares of 1mm styrene (3cm would have done I think), I drilled a guide hole in the centre and then fixed the trees to them witha 'blob' of Milliput. Sorry for the dodgy p...

Re: Brother Against Brother 28mm Figure Sabots - WIP

Hey Stu, The circles aren't quite perfect, I tried a flange type drill and a hole saw both were too powerful for the styrene even though I ran the drill as slow as possible so I used my no name Dremel tool worked just fine. Also above thicknesses are wrong the base sheet is 0.5mm thick and the layer...

Hi All, The sabots are done (even a test four figure one) now I just to make 50 more and to get the figures sorted. These figures I bought prepainted and I need to weather them a bit to dull them down and flock the bases to match the sabots. I do like they are mounted on washers it makes them very s...

Trees - 6mm Scale Games

Hi All, I picked up another batch of 6mm scale trees and these will all be based on 9cm square bases (toyed with hexagons!). This will help with setup time and tree movement when figures plough through woods. I can use my separately based trees to add shape to woods placing them around the multi bas...
