The campagin is set in 1862 with the objective to capture the opposing capital. The Union has a larger army but its quality is ...

Re: A First Blooding. An ACW battle.

Oh yeah. A real mish mash of figures and from commerically painted to barely undercoated. As for "Rank and File". Overall not bad. The group has used it a few times now for7YW, Napoleonic and now ACW. They are fairly simple without being simplistic and seem to give a reasonably expected hi...

Airbrushes and horses; for Gunner Dunbar.

So Gunner asked in another thread if using an airbrush sped up the painting process. I say yes and this is here to show that. So we start with 13 Perry Plastic ACW horses. http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn123/twilkodragon69/Projects/Painting%20log/2017/Feburary/phone%20clean%20up%20Feb%202017%20...

A First Blooding. An ACW battle.

Gday All, Today the Penrith Wargames Society had a battle set in the American Civil War. The fictional senario pitted 2 Rebel divisions against 2 Federal ones using the Rank and File rules. The figures were a bit of a mishmash with everyone bringing whatever they had so there was everything from 20m...

They would have to be the most unusual Rebel unit on any table. And that is part of the fun.

Southern Zouaves

During the American Civil War, particularly in the first year or so of the war, many units fashioned themselves arfter Zouaves in French service during the Crimean war. Re: 18th Alabama

Massively.I am still learning really but I reckon I'd have to 5 or 6 times faster getting base coating done and am getting better shading on the figures to boot. The tones are often very subtle but I reckon the difference is noticable. Got to do some Confederate cavalry soon so to give you an idea I...

Gunner Dunnbar; There is no "mix" per say, more just a method. All my base coating now is done with an airbrush and only the detail with a brush. All the figures are undercoated with grey "super etch" primer spray pack. The they are pre-shaded with Vallejo Model Air "Panzer ...
