Re: Painting Log for 2016

Gday Darling,

No they have not seen action yet. Still have the Rebs to finish, some time to find and then it is game on.

Will have the camera out when they do.

Tony.

Re: Painting Log for 2016

October. Finally I have found some time to paint stuff. Not much I will admit but as painting time seems to have been so scarce this year I'll take it and call it a win. Re: Painting Log for 2016

I'm a bit of a bower bird when it comes to figures. Just can't help myself sometimes.

Don't game near as much as I would like to.

School holidays means that I have time to paint and the excuse that it claers my mind from the previous term.

Re: God Save the Prince!

I think that they liked the rules. Relatively simple they are give a good result but one does need to keep checking a units morale. Ty was very surprised at how little manuever is possible with troops of this period. Mick was talking about some ACW rules and Ty wants to do 30 Years War battles. Stay...

God Save the Prince!

So my old mate Tyberius wanted to organise a game of something and so asked me if I would arrange something. With the original intention for there to be 3 players per side I went to work and came up with something that used every ECW figure that I had many of which were unpainted (and still are). Th...

Honey Springs

Well ACW seems to be all the rage at the moment and so we at the Penrith Wargames Society have been getting into the spirit of things with one of our own using Brian Cowan's free rules off the net. They are very basic and have some real quirks though they mostly work no attack really has much of a c...

Looks like we are settling on "Black Podwer" and its "Glory, Halleujah" supplement.

Was thinking where I could get extra carriages from. Will PM you later.

Re: Painting Log for 2016

Many thanks nevermore. Being Union troops the next few units should be relatively quick. However the Rebels will be more of a challenge and slow me down what with the mix of uniforms etc.

Painting Log for 2016

Gday All, Yes I am back. New, very busy, job means that I have had little time for painting. So I am trying my best to get done what I can during school holidays, when I should be planning lessons for next term, and trying to get my ACW project finished (and also started). Perry Plastics. http://i30...

Re: Painting Log

Good looking kits but the tank tracks are a complete bastard to put together properly. Hard plastic in a number of straight sections and then individual links....YUCK.

Re: Painting Log

Me and my dislexia. Somehow I put IDT (from my very faulty memory) when it should actually be PST (having found and reread the assembly instructions).

I got both kits off a mate (see these Tyberius) who has had them for a while, a long while.

I hope that clears things up.

Re: Painting Log

December. Well this last month has been far busier and thus, as far as painting goes, far less productive than I had expected. Still I managed to get the following done. Swedish Livgarde. Figures by Wargames Factory. http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn123/twilkodragon69/Projects/Painting%20log/De...

Re: Painting Log

Thank you Capt Darling. The turret is not quite right but close enough for Government work, or at 4ft range on the table. Might do some more French later on so there will be some hard edge schemes to come. Thought I had it right doing freehand with the airbrush but it washed out a bit after varnishi...

November. Not a bad month but there is a hell of a lot of stuff that I have close to being finished but really doesn't make the cut, which is kinda frustrating. Still some progress is better than no progress. First up, SdKfz 140. http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn123/twilkodragon69/20151201_21500...

Re: 20mm Romanians for Coc, first battle

Great post Gunner. The terrain looks awesome. Must make some roads myself. On cardboard buildings, of which I have quite a few, print onto normal paper and then glue to "box board". Box board is a grey cardboard that I get from my local art supply shop (next door) and comes in at least 3 thicknesses...

If truth be known Chuckie I get bored easily and usually have half a dozen projects on the go so I can swap from one to another as interest waxes and wanes.

Glad you like the line up.

October. Yes another month has passed and it is time to post up the results. With school having gone back progress has definately slowed so the volume of work here is more indicative of what got started when I didn't have to go to work every day. 1/72 scale Bristol Blenhiem, Airfix. http://i303.phot...

The Plastcraft sheets are 212mm by 148mm and there are 2 in a packet. I gave one an ink wash to help show up the pattern. The figure is a 25mm Wargames Factory one. http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn123/twilkodragon69/Projects/Painting%20log/September/Painting%20Log%20013.jpg http://i303.photobuc...

Re: More buildings by Plastcraft/Ewar.

Ok in the box you get are supposed to get enough bits to make 5 long sections (205mm long), 2 short straights (86mm), 2 90 degree corners, a 45 degree bend, 3 4-way intersections and a T junction. The roads are all 120mm wide from outside edge to outside edge. So the cures are 120mm radius. The phot...

More buildings by Plastcraft/Ewar.

Some time back I did a short review of a kit of four houses by Plastcraft/Ewar. For those of you who missed it or even forgot all about it the thread can be found here, http://ozwargaming.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6405 Anyway I recantly managed to finish the other 3 houses and the Church and City Roa...
