Re: 28mm Rank & File horse and Musket game.

Hi, Great looking game. Very nice figures! Good to see you liked the rules I just picked up a set last week! I am interested in using Rank & File rules for corps/army level Napoleonic games, what scale did you use for your arimes in this action as in 1 to 20 1 to 50 etc? I see in the rule book you c...

Longstreet Rules -Campaign Game #7 AAR

Hi All, This was the seventh game in our Longstreet campaign. We played this over the Easter long weekend. Note - I am waiting for pictures from Dave before I write up games five and six. It is the first of the two 1864 games the minimum force total per side and the action decks are now stacked in f...

Re: Bolt Action Game

Right so this is where AARs should be...uh oh...

Nice looking set of terrain and figures...for mid war get a Sdkfz 251 with a short 75mm doesn't carry many troops but the HEAT round destroys most vehicles of the time...

Re: Longstreet Rules -Campaign Game #4 AAR

Hey Dropbear, Thanks for the comments! Yes the cards introduce to the game battlefield vagaries and actions that would never come into the mind of sane players with an all seeing view of the tabletop yet we read about regularly in real life battles. Unfortunately the card you most want usually isn't...

Longstreet Rules -Campaign Game #4 AAR

Hi All, This was the fourth game in our Longstreet campaign. It is the first of the three 1863 games the minimum force total per side is still pretty balanced but the action decks now contain the same number of cards! The most ominous change in the deck from the Rebel point of view is the dwindling ...

Re: Longstreet Rules -Campaign Game #2 AAR

These games we play on an area 90cm deep and 120cm wide allows for the action to start quickly while there is for some manoeuvring. I have just finished my 120cm x 180cm light weight wargaming table, it can be stired in the garage and will sit neatly on my foosball table allowing my partner to have ...

Honour Longstreet Rules Review

Hi All, I bought and set up my 6mm ACW armies to play large scale actions but when I saw Honour’s Longstreet rules I just had to go for it. I have played card based wargames before but not with miniatures so I was taking a bit of a leap! I’m not an expert at reviewing rules but here’s my take on Hon...

Longstreet Rules -Campaign Game #1 AAR

Hi All, My mate Dave and I have been playing a Longstreet Rules campaign game for a while now. Unfortunately he's moving to Sydney and we are only up to game 6 of the 9 games required so it may take a while to complete! I am playing the Federals and he is playing the Confederates. For those of you w...

Re: Small Scale Gap Filler Roads & Streams

Hi Guys, Thanks, my more recent attempts at dirt roads are better than the above. If you go to the trouble with the water you can highlight the ridges and it looks even better. From one tube I got: 1.2 metres of stream 2.4 meters of road sections 6 swamp bases Paul below is a link to what I used her...

Small Scale Gap Filler Roads & Streams

Hi All, I have posted this elsewhere but thought I'd add it here for any other small scale gamers, great way to get some good terrain at a bargain price. I saw this idea mentioned on a blog so thought I'd give it a try to upgrade my 6mm wargamming terrain. Armed with a $2 tube of gap filler and some...

Capatin Darling Reporting For Duty...

Hi All, Found this wargamming site so thought I'd better join up! I have been wargamming since the late 1970s! I started out with Airfix 1/72 stuff then graduated to 15mm figures and have recently started upgrading all my armies to 6mm. My main areas of interest are the Napoleonic and ACW periods bu...

How did the game play out compared to the historic commentary (looked on the link and could find the pictures but no AAR)?
