Re: Vale Victor "Rick" Quayle.
Yep Miss him although Since moving interstate 2 years ago I havent seen him in that time but I was in frequent email contact with him and odd phone calls. He stepped up for the club and kept it going and inspired me to keep coming to the club until I moved interstate. If it wasnt for his tenacity &a...

Yes Ron does when work doesn't call him in. In fact he and I in between mass battles at the club get some Ancient games in which was great meeting Ron as I had someone just as excited about Ancients as myself. Yeah the Fenlons were just a lucky find. I already had a bunch of them but Mark himself wa...

Re: Longstreet 4 Player Campaign Game AAR
thanks checking out your website now. funny your black and white photo brought back memories.. I remember when I was a Sydney kid in the mid 70's joining an ACW group called the Blue & Grey I think?, [based in Cambeltown I think?] and they sent out their magazine as a roneo copy and had photos l...

Re: Longstreet 4 Player Campaign Game AAR
Very nice .
Just started enjoying these rules in 28mm recently at the Peninsula Praetorians. It's been fun and different for me as I normally don't care for campaigns but it works well.
So am finding links to it to check out thanks.

Wow Tony good to see you guys are getting a lot of ACW games in. Been watching some of your painting threads. THEY CALL THAT LURKING.You must be amassing a good size Perry army by now. I am surprised the clubs using Rank and File rules. I Introduced Rick, graham & lou to those for Napoleonics an...

Re: Peter Laing Miniatures
Untitled.png Original Laing Box. Not sure if this was from my original Romans as i did keep it but i think this may have come from a later bulk lot 2nd hand purchase which leads me to ponder where is my original box as i am never the one to discard anything. ie: Hoarder. Or was it my original Roman...

Re: God Save the Prince!
sounds good yes when we first started using the rules in the club I was reluctant because they were a take on the WRG rules [which I really dont care for] but the writer cleaned it up enough that I came to accept them , then like them enough not to want to learn new ones for club use. Ty probably to...

Re: God Save the Prince!
good stuff sir I am counting 4 people made it that night. Not a bad turn up indeed on a cold winters night. How did the others like the rules having been their first use of them..[maybe Tyberius had played them before at the club?..and pointing out those not knowing these rules that the Wes who play...

Re: Little Wars Melbourne 2016 - Feedback, Pictures?
yes indeed Having moved to Melbourne recently from Sydney I was able to attend Little Wars. As I had hired a sales table I didn't get a lot of time to view games though i did walk around all of them. Good venue, good attendance for a one day event [around 300 I have heard] enough to make pleasant da...

Re: Peter Laing Miniatures
Part of the excitement about collecting figures is the paint job others do...I believe if possible original paintjobs should be kept and just touched up if they are not past it..in this case you have scored some very nice figures. [both purchased and your own and sit in harmony.] I my self in my 25m...

Re: Looking for 1st generation Minifig ancients
Hello young tyberius. might be worth talking to Great White Zulu if he still frequents these boards. Just found my Peter laings again and might do something with them and my minifigs strip steppes cavalry army you've seen. When i replied to the Peter laing thread it reminded me great white had a goo...

only found your recent posting as I just dragged out my Peter laings today after a huge move interstate. Thought I would Google for more inspiration and found this. That is incredible painting ian.

Re: Song of Drums & Shakos Test Game
good stuff I have been using Ganesha rules The Song of Blades and Heroes for skirmish with a bunch of mates last few years but a move to melbourne this year saw that end 6 months ago just as i developed a massed battle extension to these rules. [seem to work without changing the core rules ] not sur...

Hi All Apart from club meetings we also have mid week games at various members homes but lately focussing at my house as i am exactly midway between everyones house and I have a 12'x6' table, although its been a while since using it due to this being my Vintage Figures/NOS wargame business and often...
