Re: Tas 1812's Painted Lead Pile

Cheers all, There's a battalion of Portuguese hiding in there with some skirmishing Cacadores as well. There's another 2 btns of Portuguese and a gun on the go, problem is the wife made me tidy up and somehow I've misplaced half a btn! They're half done but I'll be stuffed if I know where they've go...

Re: Tas 1812's Painted Lead Pile

Cheer again Cyrus and Capt. Darling, The victrix artillery is a nice kit, I even committed sacrilege and cut the heads of some metals and added them to the guard and horse guards crew with plastic heads! The spare artillery crew became some of the skirmishing voltiguers too with a few spare arms and...

Re: Tas 1812's Painted Lead Pile

2018 seems to be the year of finishing off projects.... ACW? tick. Japanese? tick. WotR? tick. SAS jeep? tick. What next? An inventory was required to see what needed doing and could be done in a timely manner around some other little BA projects. Well I've assembled the last of my French models tha...

Re: Tas 1812's Painted Lead Pile

Cheers Cyrus :)

Not the best photos of them, they've come up a bit shiny due to the light, they don't look that shiny IRL

I might try take some better snaps of them and post up some of the Rebs too over the weekend.

Re: Battlegroup

Interested yes, player base locally? Unknown It's got some really nice mechanics and a bit of variabilty in the number of activations (the reactions are nice) and the variety in fire types and spotting to see targets. The Battle rating is rather cool too not knowing when they're going to break : Fla...

Re: Tas 1812's Painted Lead Pile

Hi all! I haven't fallen off the planet and we're back with some very recently painted stuff! Some ACW Union Cavalry finished last night with the basing :) Painted over last week around Anzac Day, they are the last of the ACW pile. (A rare moment having run out of a particular period's minis to pain...

Re: Musket Action! AWI

The high point - Turn 4 The Continentals pour fire and cannon shot into the church as the marksmen hold back the skirmishing bow armed-indians on the British left. Thankfully for the Americans the bow fire is proving rather ineffectual... https://farm1.staticflickr.com/787/41148056132_ddf9808533_c.j...

Musket Action! AWI

Hi all, some shots from last night's game - Musket Action! Well that is the Bolt Action rules adapted to suit the age of black powder. The blokes at the local club wanted something quicker to play than M&T/SP and smaller than Full blown BP so Musket Action was born! It makes for a cracker of a game ...

SAGA 2!

Hi all, Had our first SAGA version 2 battle last night, lots of fun and ruminating over the new battle boards but generally very good! Many things are much more streamlined and most ambiguities cleared up (with the exception of the odd battleboard ability - the one we encountered was who takes the f...

And some more from the unpainted pile! These guys have been sitting around unloved since version 1 of BA - was half way through building them when cavalry got nerfed by v2 :) Finished them off over the last two nights while working on some javelin armed levy for SAGA and might actually run them in a...

Re: Tas 1812's Painted Lead Pile

Cheers Cyrus, Capt. Darling and Dropbear :) @ Dropbear - Victorian? No sorry, just slightly further south - Tasmanian - but I do love mini shopping in Melbourne. The local stores are great but just don't have the customer base to stock huge ranges to satisfy my lead pile addiction. inc @Capt. Darlin...

I'm not in Sydney either but these guys might be worth checking out: http://sparkerswargames.blogspot.com.au/search?q=napoleonic They seem to do a lot in 28mm, (They play BlackPowder/Maurice/Blucher) both at one of the Universities and at Hall of Heroes in Campbelltown. If you like a big battle... c...

Re: Tas 1812's Painted Lead Pile

Cheers Chuckie and Dropbear! :D It's nice to be posting again :) I too love chainmail - the detail paints itself - I've undercoated all my ancients/dark ages/medievals so far in GW Bestial/Mournfang Brown, drybrush on GW Chainmail - hit with a Brown ink wash (Agrax Earthshade) (sometimes 50-50 black...

Tas 1812's Painted Lead Pile

Hi all! I'll kick off with some of my latest painted troops bef...
