Re: small skirmish games

Some really nice looking figures there Dropbear! Excellent work. Waiting for an AAR now!    Ummm, I should have mentioned all of those figures are images taken from the web site they are sold on, and I don't actually have any of these figures, and thus haven't painted any.....

Re: small skirmish games

Robin Hood would work ok. A series of missions including robbing the rich, rescuing captured outlaws, ambushes. Each mission adds or decucts from a 'most wanted' rating, which activates certain evens when it gets to certain levels... such as more enemy troops accompany nobels, more enemy patrols an ...

Re: small skirmish games

Fantasy would be easy to do, either am assassin or group of thieve in a city, or Conan the barbarian. I think the Conan would be easier to do, as I would only need Conan and a Companion and someone to fight. I even have a Conan in a bag somewhere. https://cdna2.artstation.com/p/assets/images/images/...

Re: small skirmish games

Love the knights one. Always been on my horizon to paint some. Now I have a "tray" excuse. I thought this was to deal with man flu and not become a new "era". You are out of control :) I am all for a new era! Bring it on I say. Actually, I am keen on this idea as I have a lot of...

For Nevermore - basics of my modular river system

Rather than hijack nevemore's thread, I decided to discuss the river sections I am making for my wargame area. This is still very much a work in progress, as I need to work on the river bank side of the boards, and then paint and flock them, but the basic idea is that I have cut some MDF boards in t...

Re: small skirmish games

I have to amit, this project has really kicked my thoughts in to over drive. I am convince a Wild West game would work. The scenery can still be varied enough to have a diffent set up each time, from the main street in a town, a rocky outcrop, a corral, a mine site or just the wilderness. For a town...

Re: small skirmish games

Ok, the following setting (the late 15th century) wasn't on my radar for this game, but I came across some beautiful miniatures from Stell Fist Miniatures that would work for a skirmish: https://s26.postimg.org/vy1js6nx5/lm-3.-foot-knights-c-2.jpg https://s26.postimg.org/wc2vrs80p/lm1.-foot-knights-...

small skirmish games

Rather than detract from my tray battle thread, I decided to make a new one to discuss different settings for skirmish games using three to five 28mm figures max per side in the small tray. Please feel free to add suggestions, or better still, start your own tray battlefield and join in the fun. Som...

Re: WW2 Alternative History - China as the aggressor

I am playing my first game in this setting using my 28mm figures - AAR on its way - I am about 1/3 or 1/2 way through the game. Aussies have the upper hand at the moment.

Re: Tray Battlefield

The small tray cost me $14 at Bunnings from memory, and I am eyeing off this one from Ikea - the same price but much bigger: http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/50287274/ I added some extra 28mm figures to the small tray, and a 3 per side skirmish wont be a problem. And yes, some of the figur...

Re: Tray Battlefield

A quick photo of a one on one melee set up with 28mm figures in the small tray: https://s26.postimg.org/l8e7p2gex/IMG_20171212_122937.jpg This tray sits across my legs when I am at my PC desk, so I could have all the reference I need, dice, rules etc very close by. I think four to five figures might...

Re: Tray Battlefield

I think 20mm would work with the bigger tray I have, especially for house to house fighting, bunker or trench clearing etc. The smaller tray I put together is really convenient for carrying around and playing in... there just isn't much room. A 28mm game would work in it provided it was a melee betw...

Re: Attack on the Allied supplies 1900 pt 2

I have cut my boards in to different widths so that I can adjust how wide the river can be depending on my mood - this way I can have a creek, river or even shore line.

I have yet to paint and flock my boards :(

Very nice, and I like how you have done the rivers. Similar to what I am working on myself... only yours is better.

Re: Tray Battlefield

I can get away with the larger tray for a 15mm game, but agree that smaller is needed for the second tray I made. 10mm will work - I have some 10mm WW1 (not enough for a game... I only have one side), but I really want to do something different for the tray battle. I have been contemplating some 28m...

Tray Battlefield

Months ago I had a lingering man flu that really stuffed my lungs up. When I was resting up I really wanted to play a game, and I was eyeing off the tray I was eating a meal from. This gave me an idea for making scenery to play a game. I created some removeable terrain bases to put in the tray and p...

LTB Perry Miniatures ACW

Does anyone have any spare Perry Miniatures ACW figures lying around they would like to sell? I am only really after skirmishing infantry, Cavalry (mounted or dismounted) and guns with gunners. Can be for either side. I just need to flesh out my forces a bit for a skirmish game. Can include command ...
